Government Engagement
Lily Ginsberg-Keig is a policy expert whose work looks at the interaction between policy and carbon markets, with a particular focus on the voluntary carbon market, compliance mechanisms and schemes, and Article 6. During her academic career, Lily researched the interrelations between society, the government, and the environment. In addition, Lily undertook courses in law with a specific focus on climate and environmental law.
Before joining BeZero, Lily was a Climate and Sustainability Consultant at Arup, where she worked with local and national governments on integrating carbon market mechanisms into climate finance strategies. Lily also worked for the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs as an adviser to the Minister for the Environment. Within this role, Lily provided strategic advice on both biodiversity and carbon markets through the development of the Woodland Carbon Code, Peatland Code and Biodiversity Net Gain. While working for the UK Government, Lily was also involved in EU negotiations where she worked extensively with UK diplomats and EU officials.
